On August 4th, 2022 at 1:40 p.m., 37 year old Nicole Lorraine Linton sped through the busy intersection of La Brea and Slauson at 100 mpH, claiming the lives of 6 people. Among those 6, a pregnant woman identified as Asherey Ryan, 23, her unborn child, her 11-month-old son Alonzo Quintero.

According to Ryan's sister, Sha'seana Kerr, Ryan was on her way to her doctor's appointment. She was 8 1/2 months pregnant. Kerr stated,"She left the house at 1:30. She woke me up and told me she was going to go to her doctor's appointment, that she loved me and she'll be right back."

Linton has been arrested and taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center where she is being treated for moderate injuries. She was charged with suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. The L.A. County District Attorney's office is now picking up the case. Criminal charges are pending.

California Highway Patrol stated Linton sped her Mercedez-Benz through a red light striking multiple cars. Many were ejected from their vehicles and two cars were engulfed in flames.

" All of a sudden, a baby literally flew from the middle of the intersection to the middle of the gas station and landed right on the floor in front of me," said Veronica Esquivel, one of the many witnesses to the crash. "Someone tried to resuscitate the baby but the baby was gone."

Nicole Linton is a registered nurse from Texas, who was currently on a travel assignment at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center. An anonymous source stated Linton abandoned her patients in the middle of her shift.

Kaiser Permanente issued a statement saying, "Everyone at Kaiser Permanente is deeply saddened by Thursday's horrific crash. It's impossible to imagine the pain those involved are experiencing. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy. At this time we are not able to comment on what has been reported as a criminal investigation."
